January can feel like a let-down when the holidays are over. We put away the Christmas decorations and take down the tree. I usually use red highlights in January and February. This year I have some red with pink and black in the mix.

Several months ago I visited a new thrift store. They have lots of household goods. I wandered around looking and found a set of 4 cute snowman salad or dessert plates for a couple of dollars. I just love snowmen. This is my fourth snowman table.
I wanted a different look on the dining table. Last year I bought a thrift store scarf that is filled with winter images of snow in winter white and blues. I put it on my table on a white tablecloth and added my blue Santa with several small snowman. pine trees, and silver ribbon. Small silver glass ornaments are nestled around them.
I made this country sign several months ago when I was trapped in my home. The colors are perfect for fall into winter, and I love the old time country font. Let’s welcome everyone home today with this free printable with its blue and cranberry colors. It’s sized 12″ x 12″.
Today’s tablescape is based on a deep maroon tablecloth and vintage china from the thrift store. I added snowflake place mats to the tablecloth. Read More
We’re now in that awkward time when all the holidays are over. The tree, lights, and beautiful holiday decor are put away for another year. If you’re like me, it can all seem pretty blah about now. My family left last week after a long holiday visit and I am in high gear to refresh my decor. I usually like to stick with red in my January living room and dining area. Sometimes I use deeper shades of cranberry or maroon. This year I’m going with red in the living room and the deeper colors in the dining room. Read More
I love many kinds of animals, and the fox is one of my favorites. It’s not like I’ve ever lived around them, but all the movies and photos I’ve seen have made me very fond of the little red faces. I happened to find art work by an artist in Slovakia who goes by the on-line name, Marty-arts. She shares some of her art online, and I do love her animals. Today’s print is based on her art with modifications. (Her art is shared on a site with free downloads with a public do-as-you-please license.) Today I’m sharing a winter fox print for the season of ice and snow. Read More
I’ve been decorating for Christmas. I’m quite enamored with snowmen for Christmas. Living in Florida, I usually can only make one on the beach with sand. I made a cardboard box snowman the other week, and he is adorable on the front porch. I added wintry Christmas to the dining room with pine cone trees and an angel.
