One of the best ways to decorate seasonally is by creating vignettes. I have several spots in my home that I always enjoy styling with simple vignettes. Previously I shared my new sofa and the vignettes on each end table. I’m still slowly developing the area’s style as it is the main focus of the living room.

In July I wrote about Modern Tropical Inspiration for my living room. I began to develop a plan for updating the space. I certainly like the description of clean lines, lots of greenery, and a tranquil space. I’ve been wanting to refresh my living room. Being eclectic I’ll just add a few touches of the modern tropical style I like.

When I was a teenager, I fell in love with spring outfits with nautical colors like navy blue with white, red or even spring green accents. I was 19 when I bought my first navy and white set of jacket, skirt and pants. I’ve never lost my love of nautical blue motifs even though my retirement wardrobe includes no nautical suits.
