I’ve often written about how much I love winter in Florida. I’m not a snow bunny “winter” lover up north. Seeing others wonderful photos of snow and ice is really all I need. As I’ve explained before, I do have Seasonally Affective Disorder (SAD) (For more information on SAD, click link.) and find gray skies make me sad. I fell in love with the sunny days here in Florida in my 20’s . I moved from Tennessee to Miami in mid-20’s, and it changed my life. I didn’t want to be like my mother and spend my life calling a close friend or family member all winter to say how sad I am. She’d say I don’t know why I’m sad. Life is ok but I hate looking out the window at gray clouds.

Cool Days of February
The weather has been changing in the last few weeks. We had a warm spell and the temperatures went up to 83 degrees F. Then a cold front came down and the high was 59. Now I know all you in 4 season climates are thinking my cold spell isn’t really cold. If you lived in Florida for several years, your body acclimates to hot weather. When I moved to Miami from Tennessee in my 20’s, I laughed when Floridians were so cold in January. Two years later I found I had joined them. Life is funny some times.
