Take a walk in the great outdoors; it’s amazing to hear the birds chirp and to watch the flowers bloom. There is something about being outside that is exciting and intoxicating at the same time. It’s just a beautiful place to be in many ways. In many places, the days can start being grey in the fall. As I mentioned before, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects a number of people worldwide as days become shorter and darker. When you’re stuck indoors in the winter, staying in your home can lead to cabin fever, increase your chances of getting sick, and even depress some people.

DIY Farmhouse Coastal Mirror
Back in 2008 when I had a booth at a flea market, I got a cheap mirror at a thrift store to hang in the shop. It had a thin wooden frame which I painted white. When I closed my shop, I put the mirror in the second bedroom. It’s not a very attractive mirror with its little frame. Over the years, I’ve read all sorts of blog posts about people making a frame larger with wood, paper mache, etc. They were all rather complicated. So I kept thinking.

Coastal Fall Table
It’s almost the end of September and here in Florida it’s hot with blue skies. The only difference from August I see are brown leaves falling from the crepe myrtle tree and less rain. In my heart I know it’s fall and I’m adding deeper colors and texture to my coastal home.
