Christmas Arrangements

First let me say that I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful day.  Last Wednesday I shared a visit to a florist-gift shop at Skip’s Florist & Gift Shop .  I shared their many Christmas decorations and gifts.  Today let’s look at holiday arrangements from a professional florist.  Of course, I am mad for flowers as frequent visitors have probably noticed.  I couldn’t resist sharing photos of  beautiful red and white flowers with greenery and pine cones.

Roses & A Stone Bird

When I feel like I can’t stand another day staying at home, I try to find something that brings me joy. It can be a simple thing – like flowers.  Roses are one of my favorite flowers. You can grow roses in Florida but it’s really hard and takes lots of work.  Roses really aren’t happy when it’s always hot. They can burn out and must be fed constantly.  I’ve not had luck growing them here and just buy my roses.

My Favorite Flower & Nature Photos of 2020

Last week we looked at the top posts of 2020 in terms of visitors and link party features.  At the end of the first year of my little blog, I did a post of my favorite flowers from the year before.  Traditionally I have only included flowers in the garden or in a bouquet.  If you’ve visited me before you probably know flowers are one of my great loves.  Last year I also included a few nature shots, another great love. Red Roses & Baby’s Breath

If you’ve visited before, you know I love fresh flowers. I love making inexpensive bouquets from the 3 for $12 flowers at Publix Supermarket. Today I choose 1 bunch of baby’s breath with a second mix of 3 red roses and a few white alstroemeria. That was 2 bunches for $8 and I have a lovely lacy bouquet for the table. It’s really one of my favorite things.
