I moved to Lakeland, Florida in mid-January 2024. I’ve been enjoying beautiful blue skies most days here. In February and March, there is an added pleasure of spring blooms.

Beginning of March in Jenna’s Garden
Azaleas are in the Rhododendron family. Most azaleas are hardy to planting zones 6-9, with a few varieties tolerating colder temperatures up to zone 4. Plant azaleas in partial shade or in a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade. Acidic Soil: Azaleas prefer soil with a pH of 5 to 6.5.

The end of February and beginning of March is when my friend Jenna’s garden is vibrant with the spring colors of azaleas here in central Florida.
