I’ve mentioned before that I like to surround myself with things that have meaning for me whether it’s a painting by my father, my grandmother’s “ear bobs”, or words from scripture or a hymn. This time of year is perfect for a daily reminder for a healthy outlook on life. Letting go of the past can be difficult. Events like a problem in a close relationship, a perceived failure or bad decision, or a really bad experience can disrupt our lives. Lingering feelings of anger, doubt, grief, or guilt can rob of us of happiness.

Early Signs of Autumn
When I visit my sister in Michigan every August, I always look across the street at her neighbor’s yard. There are two small trees whose leaves turn early for fall. Living in Florida, this is the closest I get to autumn leaves.
