Blue Skies in Florida

For the last month, we’ve had lots of rain here in Central Florida.  The storms come onto land from the Gulf of Mexico.  It doesn’t rain all day but by afternoon or early evening the heat drives moisture into the air and the showers come a shore.  In between, we have blue skies although there are sometimes darker looking clouds lingering in the sky. Timber Oaks is a residential area in Florida. Today let’s look at the history of the small community of almost 2000 homes. This established master-planned community for 55 and over is made up of several distinct villages with a variety of attached and single-family homes that offer low-maintenance living. Historically, looking back the planning didn’t note the geographical problems causing flooding issues in the area.

Visit to Glacier National Park, Montana

Today’s photos are shared by my nephew and his wife, James and Heather. They celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a trip out west to Glacier National Park in Montana’s Rocky Mountains. Glacier National Park is a 1,583-sq.-mi. wilderness area with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. It’s crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Among more than 700 miles of hiking trails, it has a route to photogenic Hidden Lake. Other activities include backpacking, cycling and camping. Diverse wildlife ranges from mountain goats to grizzly bears
