I’ve been going through old photos and pulled a couple from Cumberland Falls.  It is the largest fall south of Niagara and is often called, Niagara of the South.  Kentucky has nice state parks often with lovely lodges. The historic Dupont Lodge is perched high above the Cumberland River, a lovely lodge from “way back when.”  You can also rent cabins, cottages, and camp sites. As with most places, the price is most reasonable off-season.

Bright Angel Trail Grand Canyon

My nephew James and his wife Heather went on vacation in June.   This is the 3rd post from their vacation photos. Thank you James!

The most popular hiking trail into Grand Canyon, the Bright Angel Trail lets hikers walk in the footsteps of Native Americans, canyon miners and pioneers, and early tourists as they descend into the canyon’s depths. Offering big views, morning and afternoon shade, resthouses, vault toilets, and drinking water during the summer, this trail offers an excellent first trip into the canyon.

*Note that all trails into the canyon are steep and difficult.

Today we’re going for a hike with Heather and James on the Bright Angel Trail into the Grand Canyon.
