It’s still warm and beautiful here in Florida. Over by my friend’s house on the lake, lots of birds come to visit. Today’s photos are of a couple of wood storks in her yard.
St. Petersburg, Florida is a beautiful coastal city on the west coast of Florida. Known for its sunny weather and Gulf beaches, St. Pete’s nickname is Sunshine City. It is also popular for golfing, boating, fishing and beachgoing. Its waterfront parks host the Dali Museum, featuring surrealist works of art; the Museum of Fine Arts, with works ranging from ancient to contemporary; and Mahaffey Theater, home of the Florida Orchestra. Today we’ll make a visit to a lesser known but fascinating museum with an unexpected western frontier flavor.
Several days ago I shared Wild Florida Air Boat Tours & Animal Park. Today is a couple of beautiful sunset photos from the day there.
If you really want to get a taste of Florida’s wonders when visiting Central Florida, take a trip to Wild Florida. They offer the most pristine airboat eco tour in the Orlando area. Just a short drive from Orlando, the Disney area, the Space Coast, and the Orlando International Airport, Wild Florida offers the best of Central Florida’s most sought after activities: airboat rides, alligators and real Florida experience. Our airboat tour is widely known as the most beautiful ride in town because of it’s untouched 4,200 acre nature preserve, free of any development or signs of human life; 100% pure Florida wilderness at it’s finest.
Take a ride to the middle of nowhere.
Decades ago, I came on a vacation one week in February from middle Tennessee to Miami, Florida. A friend I visited showed me the beaches, Biscayne Boulevard, and local attractions. We had great seafood, barbecue, and everything in between. We even took a short trip to the Florida Keys.
Previously I shared spring at Bok Tower Garden at Lake Wales, Florida. Today we’ll tour Pinewood Estate garden and mansion which is nestled in the Bok Gardens. A separate fee gains you entrance to Pinewood Estates, an enchanting 20-room Mediterranean-style mansion. Originally named “El Retiro,” meaning “retreat” in Spanish, the Estate was built in the early 1930s for Charles Austin Buck, a Bethlehem Steel vice president. Now this historic Estate is open for tours throughout the year to visitors of Bok Tower Gardens.
Read MoreI moved to Miami back in the 1970’s. I felt like I was living in paradise with blue skies, beautiful beaches, and great food. During my first year living in Miami, some of my friends took me to The Rusty Pelican for my birthday. Located on Key Biscayne in the Miami Bay, this restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy all that contemporary Miami has to offer.
