Those of you who visit often will remember the table lamp makeover I did a few weeks ago. I bought a roll of aluminum wallpaper to use on the base of the lamp. Last week I made DIY Cone Christmas Trees using some of the aluminum wallpaper.

It’s been hot with beautiful blue skies most days here in central Florida. We did finally have several days of rain this past weekend. Maybe our wet summer season is here. I’m celebrating in my home with a floral country table. Read More
My friends and I often get together for brunch or lunch. Sometimes we eat out and sometimes we dine in one of our homes. Today I’m sharing a pretty, farmhouse cottage table covered with a handmade quilt. It was a present many years ago from my wonderful sister-in-law, the best little sister anyone could ask for. It is a lap quilt with a hanging pocket on the back. Over the years, I’ve hung it on the wall, displayed it on my bed. and laid it on tables.
May is warm with blue skies here in Central Florida; it’s really the start of summer. The inspiration for my tablescape today was a handful of garden flowers from my friend and a new Ross for Less treasure, a country pig with wings.
When I was at Tasty Tuesday’s Farmers Market this week, one grower had a bucket of bouquets at $5 each. Each had an Amaryllis bloom as the major attraction and I wanted one. It’s that time of year and the Amaryllis are blooming. (Amaryllis is a subtropical bulb that belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family and is native to South Africa. It is grown as a potted plant in most parts of the United States but can also be grown outdoors year round in Florida.)
Last summer on a hot day, I found a wonderful King size quilted sham at my favorite thrift store. I love going through vintage linen for a special find, like quilted items. I knew from experience, it would be perfect on my small dining table. It’s darker blues and burgundy reminded me of cool winter days. I put it away for a winter table even though it could be used anytime of year.
My table for Thanksgiving this year is based on my rustic lighted pumpkin. (source: Aldi last year.) I added lace, flowers, leaves, candles, and more rustic pumpkins for the center of the table.
