Liz’s Amaryllis

(Amaryllis is a subtropical bulb that belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family and is native to South Africa. It is grown as a potted plant in most parts of the United States but can also be grown outdoors year round in warm areas like Florida.)

 

Down the street is my neighbor Liz.  I introduced her a year ago when she let me snap photos of her amaryllis flowers.  Again I was driving past her house and saw the bright red flowers.  I parked at home and walked up to see her beautiful blooms.

Spring Dining Table With April Bouquet

Yesterday I went as usual to the Tasty Tuesday’s farmer’s market. Local vendors who grow produce without chemicals offer seasonal veggies, some fruits, and home crafted items. One particular grower also offers flower bouquets. This week his amaryllis were blooming and I couldn’t resist the beautiful bouquet with double amaryllis.
