White & Turquoise Vignette For November

It’s the beginning of November, and most of us in the USA are thinking about our next big holiday, Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for all the wonderful people who visit my blog and celebrating the season with a white rose bouquet. There are also 2 little pink roses in the handful of white. I placed the small bouquet in a turquoise glass vase on one of my turquoise plates. I do love turquoise and also teal. They’re especially nice to use in the fall. Both go great with browns, tans, and even orange. This bouquet is just a pale group of flowers on a deep colored plate.

Colorful Crotons in The Fall

Croton is a tropical plant known for its variegated foliage covered in green, scarlet, orange, and yellow splotches. Crotons are native to the tropical forests of southeast Asia and Oceania. In the wild, they grow as large shrubs, reaching up to 10 feet tall. It is not hardy and frost will kill it. It was introduced in Europe and the USA as a colorful houseplant loved for its bright, colorful foliage.  It can be grown outside in tropical climates like Florida.

Years ago I moved from Tennessee to greater Miami. It was like a dream with the ocean and warm climate. One of the first things I discovered were neighborhoods filled with crotons. I didn’t know what they were, but I loved them.

Fall Decor Inspiration

In the last three weeks I have visited multiple shops looking for fall home decor inspiration. Yes, I do have boxes of fall items, but I always love to see various new ideas and ways to display the season’s beauty. Today’s photos are from a trip to Bealls Outlet. It is a Florida discount store that offers clothing, home goods, and kitchen ware geared for the Sunbelt climates. Their seasonal display this year is huge.
