I’m a salad lover any time of year. Cooler weather I crave more spicy salads with arugula. On its own or mixed in with other greens, arugula makes a great salad with its peppery notes. If you’re not a fan of arugula, try an organic baby salad mix containing arugula. The peppery notes are toned down by the medley of flavors. I went to Aldi to get a box of organic baby arugula but ended up buying baby arugula and spinach. I love baby spinach and had to try the combination. That’s my crispy base for the today’s salad. You can use organic baby arugula or a baby leaf mix including arugula.

Tarragon Flowers Table
The other day at the small farmer’s market, Tasty Tuesday, I saw a first for me. My favorite grower, Cindy, sells little bunches of fresh (grown-without-chemicals) herbs for 50 cents each. She had an herb covered in bright gold yellow flowers. She said it was fresh tarragon. I’d never seen tarragon flowers before. (For those of you in northern climates, winter is a great time to grow “cool” weather crops here in Florida. The summer burns lots of things up.)
Rustic Pumpkin Thanksgiving Table
My table for Thanksgiving this year is based on my rustic lighted pumpkin. (source: Aldi last year.) I added lace, flowers, leaves, candles, and more rustic pumpkins for the center of the table.
Country Christmas Gift List Printables
I’m a big planner and I like to make lists. There is a satisfaction in checking off completed tasks. Do you make lists? A big list this time of year is my gift list for Christmas. Family, friends, and people who make my life better are on the list. When I was working, I’d read about people giving a gift to the mail carrier. It seemed odd as I had no idea who delivered my mail. I was at work.

Rich & Creamy Pumpkin Soup With Nuts
When the weather is cold, I always think of a warm, thick soup with crusty bread. Living in Florida, it’s not that cold, but I still want soup as our temps drop. Everyone has their favorite pumpkin soup recipe. Here’s my spin on the autumn classic. Feel free to adapt by adding spices or whatever pleases your palate.
