Summer Red, White, & Blue Table

It’s almost July and it’s time for a red, white, and blue summer table.  Today’s offering is a casual table set for a patritoic celebration. First I added a white tablecloth to the table. Then I used my new bright blue placemats with my white plates.  A Dollar Tree red star paper plate tops the place setting. For those of you who don’t live in the USA, it’s just a fun table with colors used by many countries.  Did you know that 29 countries use these 3 colors in their flags?

Cheery Yellow May Table

For the last several years I’ve made a yellow table for May, but I wasn’t planning to make one this year.  Then I find sunny yellow placemats in the store and knew it was again time for a May yellow table.  I enjoy collecting vintage dinnerware at thrift stores.  I have 3 salad plates in the Corelle pattern Spring Meadow which was made in 1977.  There is something about the little pastel flowers which I find cheerful.

Thanksgiving Table for Two

Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia, and the sub-national entities Leiden, Norfolk Island, and Puerto Rico. It began as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

This year I will not gather with a large group for my Thanksgiving celebration.  Instead a simple meal for two will be shared at my table. My inspiration for my small Thanksgiving table is the thrift store angel I got last year.  The ceramic angel holds a pumpkin and the words “Give Thanks” adorn her skirt.  Perfect for my Thanksgiving lunch.

Rustic Bunny Spring Table

Several weeks ago on my last trip to Ross for Less, I got several items that are perfect for a table: a wood slab I’ve wanted for a while, a rustic rabbit figurine, and 2 springtime plates with flowering trees.   The wood slab is the basis for the centerpiece.  I cannot go buy fresh flowers so I added a faux flower arrangement with pink tulips.  On the side of the flowers is the rustic bunny.  I put a sheer pink ribbon around his neck.  Ribbon has been also added to the vintage milk glass vase of flowers.
