Michigan Bird Feeder & Update

We’re getting close to the end of January, and most of us still face snow storms and ice in the next month. My nephew, Robert, and his wife, Lisa, shared snowy photos from their birdfeeder. They live in the greater Detroit area

As the country goes into the deep freeze this week, I ask that you please carry a little sunshine in your smile. I suggest we stay home but that isn’t a real world. As we go out into this cold and often dark time, your smile can lift others. You’ll find it can lift you too. Spread kindness like confetti.

Freezing weather is predicted for Florida by Tuesday. It is expected to last all week. I need more sweat clothes! My plans are to stay home in bed.

I’ll spend time this week thinking about my blog and what I want in the future. I want a simpler blog as I’m currently on WordPress.org. I’m visiting both Blogger and WordPress.com to make draft blogs to compare. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for your online friendship. It’s what helps keep a smile on my face.

  1. Got a chuckle about all the friends you’re staying in bed with! Your feeder does attract some pretty birds…as well as a good looking nephew! Yes, sharing a smile is so important. And I’m so glad you got to see the monks on their Peace Walk. I have recently had troubles with blogger, but they seem resolved for now. The other wordpress doesn’t let me comment without filling in each of my particulars each time, which means I skip conversations many times just because it’s a pain to do so.

    1. I see your commenting from the WordPress site which is coming soon. So is there a blackmtnbarb at blogger? I’d like to go check it out. The photo of animals in bed came from a group down in Key West. You’ll see chickens walking the streets in Key West – they are very relaxed down there. They are saying we’re going in deep freeze in central Florida for the coming week. I just ordered more sweat shirts online to keep me warm. Yesterday the high was 82 degrees F. Carol

  2. Winter hit us hard here in East Texas with 22 degrees today! We keep our feeders full all the time, as for us, a large bird population in the yard is also a great way to keep the bugs down. Plus we love to see the activity throughout the day. I haven’t been walking since the cold hit hard, I gave up all my winter clothes when we moved here, LOL. But it is due to lift soon. Take care, by the way, blogger is very simple to use (and why I am a “blogger” blog) When I started over 25 years ago I was still working a demanding day job, and I knew simple was the only way I would be able to manage it all. #MMBC

  3. That bird feeder is so cool! What great photos from it.
Stay safe and warm. I have been watching the news about the storm and it sounds awful.
I’ve only ever used Blogger and have found it so easy to use so can’t really compare it to WordPress. Good luck in whatever you decide.

  4. Love the photos of the cute birds! I use WordPress.org, and setting it up was a bit of a nightmare. I haven’t tried any other platform, but they all sound much simpler than WordPress.org. I hope you stay safe and warm. It sounds very cold over there!

    1. Comfortspringstation is a WP.org site. If you only had trouble at the beginning, consider yourself lucky. Of course, I don’t know how long you’ve had your blog. I remember when they introduced blocks, and I was like why complicate it? Then I learned to love blocks. I keep trying to check I’m ok when writing on Blogspot – you just write and insert photos. Of course you can change view to all html. ahh!

  5. We have not had to deal with snow and real winters in 14 years since spending our winters in South Florida. The cardinal is so lovely and love the photo of the critters under the covers in the bed.

    1. The graphic of the critters in bed was developed by a group in Key West. They have chickens wandering the street there. I just loved the look of it – even the chickens are tucked in.

  6. Well ~ I hear your thoughts about which blog site to choose ~ they make things complicated to keep people employed I guess ~

Awesome cardinal photos and fun graphic photo with critters in bed ~ It is in the single digits today in MA ~ lol ~ will try and find your blogger blog ~ hugs,

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
