November Activities for James & Heather

Today is a little catch-up with my nephew, James, and his wife, Heather. Both are teachers up in Michigan. If you’ve visited before, you might have seen posts from their various vacation trips. First, I’d like to introduce a new addition to their family, shy rescue, Celia the cat. She spends a fair amount of time watching Benny get into mischief.

At the beginning of November Heather and her sister went to a crafting workshop in Ortonville, Michigan. This session was making Porch Pots. Aren’t those big pots attractive?

My nephew, James, is a very busy man. Besides his job as a high school teacher, he coaches sports, is an avid runner, and plays music with friends in DeSoto Drive. Mid November, James and another musician from the group, DeSoto Drive, played at Jazz and Blues at Southfield Library. James then showed his instrument and talked to his young fans.

Here’s a link to their music.

On Thanksgiving morning, James and his daughter, Christina, both ran in Detroit’s Trot With Christmas race. Christina came back home to visit for Thanksgiving. She graduated from Madonna College two years ago. She had track and academic scholarships and graduated with a BS in Nursing. Like James, Christina runs every morning before going to work in Indiana. She will be marrying her fiancee (also a runner) in June up in Indianapolis.

Good Bye from Michigan!!

  1. Aw, Benny and Celia are just adorable!
I love the porch pots, they are so pretty, and well done to James and his daughter for completing the race.
I wish I had any kind of motivation at the moment. Had a stinking cold for weeks now.

    1. I hope you’re feeling better. I’m remembering you in my prayers. I was never an athlete, but in my senior years, I remember how much stronger and faster I was.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
