Red White & Blue Patriotic Fruit Salad

For patriotic holidays,  a simple summer fruit salad of red and blue fruit like strawberries or watermelon with blue berries or black berries is very popular. Add bananas and you have red, white, and blue. Toss with a honey lime dressing and it’s so good. The lime juice keeps the banana slices from turning brown. It’s so easy to make that it’s hard to call it a recipe. It’s very visually appealing for Memorial Day or 4th of July.

I’m using white bowls with patriotic paper napkins. If you have red or deep blue bowls, they would also work well. For the red fruit, you can also use raspberries or cubes of watermelon. For the blue fruit, you could also use blackberries.

  3. I love fresh fruit in the summer (though I typically won’t use bananas since I don’t like them)… but I do find star fruit is a fun substitute!
