“Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.”
–Ralph Waldo Emerson
I’d like to start today’s post with photos from my nephew James’ wife, Heather, and her spring plant buys. If you’ve been around several years ago, you might remember Heather switched from a huge haul of annuals each spring to mostly perenials with some annual additions each spring. This has worked well with less work until this year. This circular bed has lost half of the perenials. The wooden flower pot always had annuals in it.

A Saturday with a friend evolved into a “nursery walk” with multiple stops to enjoy the plants and to choose those to take home.

The end result is beautiful as usual.

Lola approves of the new flowers from her lookout perch.

My friend, Diane, up in Michigan shared this on Facebook. I don’t know who originally made this photo, but I do love it. It proves you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a beautiful feature in the garden. Now if you have a lot of rain often it wouldn’t last long I don’t think. In winter in Florida, it’s our dry season, and it would work then.

Again from James and Heather, a couple of shots from their Memorial weekend camping stay at Canoe Harbor State Forest Campground, Grayling, Michigan.

Now let’s finish with a beautiful sunset in Michigan from my other nephew Robert and his wife.

…Carol, thanks for this beautiful post. The more flowers the better I say. I would love that scarecrow in my garden, thanks for the idea. Take care and be well.
They were within 20 miles of our cottage when they went to Grayling. It looks like it was pretty well cleaned up from the ice storms. (The north is having a very hard time getting cleaned up. The Pigeon River Forest is a mess.) I love seeing that car full of plants and how beautiful they look planted!
I am so sorry to hear about the damage the storm made. We had a wild thunder storm last night after our long dry season. It went on for over an hour. I hope your area has a better summer.
Beautiful.
The plants look great and what a great Saturday shopping for them. Fantastic photos!
The sunset shots are absolutely stunning. Your nephew has a beautiful home and garden!!
The circular flower bed came out beautifully. I love that Michigan sunset!
Beautiful flowers and lovely sunset!
Beautiful garden and beautiful Michigan scenery.
Lovely photos Carol! They did a splendid job on their flower bed and your other photos are great. Lola is very cute, the skies and water scenes too. Please thank your family from me for sharing them.
I always do and they just say anytime. They take great shots.Happy Weekend!
Perfect “scarecrow” in a field of lavender.
Worth a Thousand Words
Beautiful flowers. As far as flowers go, I just want the end product, not the labor pains of getting there. My wife is a certified master gardener and just loves working in the yard.
The flowers are gorgeous and that sunset is breathtaking.
Love the scarecrow.
Happy Sunday, Carol!
I do love shopping for new plants! The end result looks great. And what a stunning sunset. Such a fab way to close the post. 🙂
Heather’s garden is beautiful! And I love the “lawn art” found on FaceBook by your friend Diane! It would work well in our dry Montana environment!
Marvelous images, and I do love that scarecrow!
