Since my childhood, I’m been a big fan of fried chicken. Like many southern families, we ate quite a bit of fried food. My mother’s fried chicken is one of my favorite memories. As a senior, I grew up in a time where we ate homecooked food daily. Take out was unheard of. Going to a restaurant was a treat, and we sat at tables with cloth tableclothes.

As an adult, I rarely fix fried chicken at home as I try to limit my fat intake. Every so often I go to a restaurant known for good fried chicken to have a “treat”. I’ve heard Love Birds’s Almost Famous Chicken is good and went to check it out. There isn’t a space for eating in as they only do food to go. That’s disappointing for me. The store is located close to downtown and not far from my home.

It was a beautiful day, and the food was good. What more can I ask for. An interesting mural on the side of the black restaurant was a gift.

Have a great day!

Looks like that you had a great day!
I did indeed. Have a wonderful day!
I’m glad the food was good — and that the restaurant isn’t far from you!
That is an interesting mural, and I like the name of the restaurant!
Lovely sky shot with the moon – the mural was a plus. Alana ramblinwitham
Oh wow, that looks good!!
I love fried chicken but I grew up out west where they have fried chicken but nothing like the fried chicken I encountered when I moved to Texas and worked other places in the southeast.
…Love Bird hasn’t made it to my neck of the woods. I love the mural, those birds sure have an attitude!
Great that you enjoyed the ‘fried chicken’ ~ and the mural is well done ~ hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

The mural is awesome, and I’m pretty sure the chicken was too.
Worth a Thousand Words
Beautifully said! I can totally relate to the fried chicken nostalgia. Glad you enjoyed Love Birds.
Fried chicken is just the best, we don’t have it often but when we do it goes down so well.
That mural is so interesting and I am glad the food was good.
What a tasty treat, and I love the mural on the wall.
My two boys go mad for KFC.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Carol. 🙂
Looks really nice! I enjoy fried chicken. There is one little out of the way place we go to in the country where they make great fried chicken. It is in a small family run business/supermarket and it really is the best, much better than the more well known stores we recognize. I am back from my blog break after having my family visit, and am enjoying catching up with you. Happy May Carol! 🙂
Happy May – welcome back!
I can honestly say I have never seen Three Chickens like that on a wall. What a hoot! Glad you enjoyed the Southern Fried Chicken. I too was raised with homemade food and it was always a treat to go out to eat. Yes, with the white tablecloths were white cloth napkins. Fancy restaurants would even bring a bowl of hot water to clean your hands before eating. Old School wasn’t so bad.
No I had a great childhood and it sounds like you did too.
That sounds delicious! 😋
And the mural adds a bit of charm to the whole experience.
I like the quirky mural – men chicken 🙂
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Carol.
