February’s Full Moon, The Snow Moon

February’s full moon, known as the Snow Moon, reflects the month’s typically heavy snowfall. Capt. Jonathan Carver’s early writings describe Native American traditions linking this moon to winter’s harshest storms. Other names for it include the Bald Eagle Moon, Hungry Moon, and Groundhog Moon.

Wednesday, February 12, 2025, was the Snow Moon. Fox 13’s weatherman, Paul Dellegado, shared photos from around central Florida. They are so beautiful that I am sharing them with you.

  2. Lovely moon shots. Around here it was cloudy, and we only got a brief glimpse just before moonset. Thanks for these!

  3. Stunning photo’s of the snow moon, every month I message my eldest daughter and tell her the name of the full moon. She loves taking photo’s of the moon and is much better than I am, my attempts look blurry.

  4. Stunning captures of the snow moon. My eldest son loves taking pics of the moon. He uses his telescope a lot too. I learn so much from him!

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
