A Rainy Start to the Day

Overnight a front moved in with a slight drop in temperature and moisture filled clouds. I woke up to a very cloudy sky. I watched the rain come. It rained off and on for about an hour.

Then the wind blew away the clouds and rain. There were blue skies within an hour. We had no more rain. It always amazes me how fast the sky changes.

Here is a special occasion – a sighting of a wood stork! Mostly I occasionally see them nesting on tall lights. (Some counties put a nesting frame on tall lights in parking lots for storks to use as they have lost lots of their habitats.) This is a first, a sighting on the ground.

  1. Love that picture of the stork. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of one. Thought maybe I’d see a baby being carried, lol.

  2. Awesome sky photos and that Wood Stork is amazing ~ thanks, ^_^

  3. Stunning photo of Ms/mr Stork. When in Denmark for a summer, so many of the old cottage homes with the thatched roofs had a stork nest perched on their chimneys. They were very much like your stork except pure white with a dark head…gorgeous! Fun photo! made me remember. Sandi

  4. I see quite a few wood storks in South Florida mostly near Boca when I visit. They are a striking large bird. We have had our share of clouds and drizzle this week.

  5. Great photos of that rainy sky. Loved your stork. I remember seeing them on our last trip to Florida but that’s been years ago now. We have more snow coming on Monday.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
