Hurricane Has Gone & I’m Feeling Better

For the last week I have been fighting an upper respiratory infection. Fall is the time for weed pollen and this year has caused lots of problems for me. Now I’ve finished my antibiotic and have few coughs now.

Of course, this week was also a hurricane watch. I hope everyone in the path of the storm is well. I’ve been saying prayers for all of us. I’m so glad I made the decision to move inland. The pollen is worse, but the storms are a little better. Being on the 2nd floor of a 3 story building also has its advantages. I’m not going to flood. The only thing I could lose would be my car. My neighbor and I were talking about it pre-storm. He and I agree that other than loss of power, losing our cars were also a possibility. I’m glad to report, I did not lose power or my car. I just watched lots of rain for 2 days. I listened to a window in my laundry room flap in the wind until 2 am on Thursday early hours. I have a project now to replace that old window this spring. It drove me crazy.

Since I have not been out and about taking photos, today’s photos are from my archives. First are sky photos from getting ready for a storm in 2016.

Next is bad weather photos from 2017 with dark skies and flooding in the street.

Finally from 2020, a shot right before storm hits.

Then the rain comes.

Let’s end with Florida blue skies. This photo was taken an hour after a storm passed back several years ago.

Thanks for the visit! I hope you have great weather wherever you are.

  1. These storms are scary and it does sound like you have moved to a safer area with being up higher . Prayers for everyone still in harms way. We have friends in Tampa who evacuated.

  2. Sorry you have been unwell but I am glad you are feeling better now.
I was thinking of you and other bloggers from the US last night when I was watching a live stream of the hurricane. It looked terrifying!

  4. I was very concerned for you and wondered how you had faired during the hurricanes. So happy to know all is well. I am sorry you have not been well this past week. Feel better very soon! I send you a flower 🌺

  5. Sorry that you have been unwell. So good to hear that you are ok after the devastating hurricane. I thought of you when I first heard about it. Take care xx

  6. So glad that your move meant you were safe throughout the storm. It must have been terrifying.
Sorry to hear you’ve been ill. Sending love and wishing you a speedy recovery. 🙂

  7. Glad the storm wasn’t severe in your location. My nephew in N.C. was spared too. On top the worries, being sick must have been stressful.

  8. It’s good to hear that you were away from the storm, I guess it was still a pretty intense few days for anybody in your area. I hope you feel better soon 🙂

  9. Glad to hear you were safe and that moving inland helped so much! I’ve been struggling with fall allergies for the first time ever this year and I swear they might even be worse than spring allergies!

    1. I have more trouble in the fall with the weed pollens. Really I have trouble with all pollen all year, but fall is worse than spring for me.

  10. I’m glad you are feeling a little better and that the storm wasn’t so bad for you. It looks like you’ve been through a lot in the past. That’s one thing I like about our little island, we rarely have destructive weather. I did get stuck in a tornado once which was terrifying. I was in my car and it was so bad that the traffic was at a standstill because we couldn’t see anything. I didn’t even know until later, I’d never seen anything like it. Apparently it did a lot of damage very nearby to where I was, including lifting roofs off buildings. I was lucky.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
