Our Neighbor’s White Crepe Myrtle

Several weeks ago, I shared the small pink crepe mytles in the condo parking lot. They really can’t let the trees get too big, or they would block the streets.

Today I’m sharing more views of our neighbor’s large white crepe myrtle. It’s a beauty and tops his privacy fence. I’ve never seen such a beautiful white crepe before.

Isn’t it beautiful against the blue skies of central Florida? We’re in the rainy season and get rain almost daily in August. That doesn’t mean our skies aren’t a beautiful blue most of the day.

I’m wishing you blue skies wherever you are.

  1. I don’t think I’ve every seen a crepe myrtle that large. I guess most people keep them trimmed. Howecer, if our landscaper doesn’t trim ours in our community, I’m afraid the two we have could eventually get that large as well
It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing at #aclwcc. Pinned.

  2. What a lovely bloomer to get to enjoy! Wonderful that you get blue skies, and rain in August, what a blessing!

  3. I love crepe myrtles. Your neighbor’s is spectacular. I am told that the white ones are more hardy than the colored. My wife calls the extreme pruning that some do “crepe murder.”

    1. I would agree with that. It’s irrational to plant a baby tree every so many feet in a parking lot. That means you have to cut it down in a few years.

  4. It is beautiful! I always wanted a pink myrtle but just got around to planting one and now I have no room for it. They are spectacular.

  5. I miss the crepe myrtles from the years I lived in the South. They aren’t hardy where I’ve lived the last 35 plus years and I’m not even sure I’ve ever seen a white one. That is one beautiful, massive crepe myrtle. Alana ramblinwitham

  7. We have two crepe Myrtle’s. The one in the back is pink, the one in the front is a deep red. Both have gotten so big they need trimming. I have never seen a white crepe Myrtle before. It’s beautiful. Thanks for sharing it. Those blue skies are lovely. Happy Sunday Carol!

    1. Happy Sunday! Please share photos of the red crepe myrtle – I’ve never seen one. Of course I’d love to see photos of the pink too. Large crepes are gorgeous. Please don’t take too much off your trees. Master gardeners say they need little pruning although some folks commit crepy myrtle murder by taking chain saws to them.

  8. That crepe myrtle is so pretty! What beautiful blue skies! We haven’t seen blue skies in awhile with lots and lots of rain.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
