4 Things To Do To Upgrade Your Home

First impressions of your home start before visitors even walk in the door. They begin outside your home, starting with the curb appeal, the exterior color, and your landscaping. Even your address makes an impression. Consider updating your house numbers for a more modern font, add a pop of color with low-maintenance seasonal flowers, paint the front door, or pick out a friendly welcome mat.

If you are going to be selling the home in the near future, this is even more important. Even small upgrades can affect the desirability of your home and its value. You want to make sure that you are trying to make your home as eye-catching as you possibly can.

It may seem like a simple solution but applying a coat of paint to various areas of your home that have become worn is a great way for you to quickly up its value. Remember that first impressions last and when people come to your property, the first thing they’re going to notice is the exterior. You need to make sure that it is painted beautifully. The good news about this type of upgrade is that it is fairly easy to do and it can become a DIY project. There’s no need to make holes in your bank account for this one.

A good way to make sure that you’re getting things looking brand new and swanky is to go into your kitchen and start upgrading the hardware and fixtures. Change the cabinet knobs and the lighting fixtures as well. If you have a small budget, perhaps you can paint the existing cabinet knobs for a new look. Remove the knobs and place on a sheet of cardboard. Spray paint the knobs such as matte black instead of gold. You can also go through and make your pantry door handles a little bit more modern and stylish. These changes are very tiny and they are also great DIY projects as well. You won’t have any trouble finding beautiful fixtures and hardware to make everything look brand new in no time.

While you always want to ensure that your upgrade projects don’t cost you an arm and leg, you might want to consider splurging a little bit. This is especially true if you’re just trying to make your home comfortable for yourself and your family. You can also splurge if you just want to add some features that will make potential buyers very impressed someday.  To achieve this you may want to consider getting a hot tub. In general, hot tubs, swim spas, cold plunge, units are a great way to skyrocket the value of your home.

Doing a bit of yard work can really enhance the curb appeal of your home and up its value as well. It seems simple but making sure everything is trimmed and neat is a great way to make your home beautiful. Be sure to add colorful flowers to the outside as well. Add potted plants in strategic places to make the exterior of your home even more inviting. All of this is simple to do and affordable at the same time.

The next step in making your home beautiful is to simply decide which of these projects you want to kick start things with.

  1. Love these ideas – I’m off to get a new door mat now! We have had some lighting done and adding extra lighting such as under the kitchen benches has made a huge difference to both the look but it is a much more modern feel.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
