Sunset on Clearwater Beach, Florida

Since my surgery in April, my neck and back have greatly decreased pain. Unfortunately, my hands and arms still have pain and occasional numbness. I was tested and both arms have carpel tunnel. I see the surgeon the first week in October to discuss surgery. Even if the surgery greatly helps, I want to sell my house and move to a condo. There the lawn is taken care of. I’ve gone through 3 lawn guys in 4 years. In Florida, you need to mow your grass year round. In January you don’t need to mow for a month, but you still need to maintain it. I’ll really miss my garden, but I can’t really take care of it like I should.

I’ve talked to agents and started a great purge. I took a car load of giveaways to a thrift store last Saturday. I’m ready to take another load. Needless to say, I’m not taking a lot of photos right now. Today’s sunset is from the archives. It’s a nice sunset on Clearwater Beach. I hope you enjoy them.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

  1. I am glad you have a little less pain since your surgery. It sounds sensible downsizing even though you will miss your garden. Good luck with it all. Beautiful photos!

  2. Your photos make me want to move to Clearwater Beach.
I hope you get a good surgeon and good results to clear up your carpal tunnel.
I don’t know how you feel about it but it feels good to get rid of stuff at this stage of the game.

  3. Spectacular sunset Carol. Good to know your pain has decreased and I hope your other surgery will produce good results. It must have been a hard decision on moving but I applaud you for making it. I can see us doing that sometime in the future.

  4. I’m sorry for your recurring pain. Chronic pain is so draining. I think you are making the right decision about the condo but with Florida real estate conditions I hope you can find a good listing you like that isn’t snatched away in a bidding war. Best of luck, and loved your photos. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. Yes it is like gambling with dice – never know what will be rolled – Thanks I need all the luck I can get

  5. What a beautiful sunset!
I’m so sorry that you are suffering at the moment Carol, keeping you in my thoughts.
I also hope the condo search goes well for you. Take care.

    1. I’m still so much better than I was before my surgery in April. I am hoping that the surgery for carpel tunnel will be just as effective. I saw 2 condos on Friday and have great hope for finding the right spot. Thanks for the good thoughts.

  6. What lovely sunset captures too cloudy all the time here to be able to get shots like that 🙂

I hope you get the pain sorted it can be so exhausting all the time, my best wishes to you from London ????

    Have a sunsettastic week ????

  7. It’s hard to give up a garden but it is a lot of work. Sounds like you are ready to move to something more manageable given your difficulty with mobility. Florida has so many beautiful condos! I hope you find one that you love.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
