A Bright Change In The Sky

Here in Florida we’re known for our sunny days with blue skies. Even if rain moves in, it often clears quickly and the sky is blue. A couple of weeks ago we had rain starting late afternoon and off and on all night. I heard thunder. I was just happy my plants were being watered.

The next morning I had to leave home early for a medical test. (no worries bone density test!) The sky was still overcast and a little gray. I was disappointed and said to myself I hope this blows away. I want my blue skies.

I returned home within an hour and there was a blue sky over my home. It felt like a present.

I hope you have blue skies wherever you are.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

  1. We usually also have bright blue skies, Carol. Colorado is known for over 300 days of blue skies but this year we’ve been having lots and lots of rain. In fact, we have had a whole year’s worth of rain already.! Very unusual but it has made everything very green

  2. Blue skies are indeed a dream, especially with a few big flat fluffy clouds in the mix.

  3. I would think it rare for you to have an overcast sky all day in July – on the other hand where I live, it’s too common. Happy you got your blue back a few hours later so you could share your blue skies with us that live in overcast areas. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. Yes it’s rare in July but sometimes tropical storms bring lots of clouds. Usually it blows away fast and that’s why I was sad it was still there in the morning. Sorry about your overcast days – my sister has those in Michigan. The first time I spent October in Michigan with her I almost went into the fetial position. 28 gray days out of 31.

  4. These are beautiful blue skies! We’ve had a lot of them since the beginning of June too. My garden could do with a good drink so I have my fingers crossed for some rain this week 🙂
