Dining Room Red, White & Blue

Yesterday I shared a new printable, a red, white, and blue patriotic anchor. I’ve framed it and replaced my art in the dining room. I added blue glasses with red and white flowers on each side with a tassel garland in the patriotic colors.

Several weeks ago I wrote that I needed inspiration for a patriotic summer decorating scheme. As I planned, I went shopping at Ross for Less. I found the garland and a cute gnome.

My dining table now has a patriotic centerpiece. My summer gnome has a red hat with blue stars.

His beard has a blue and white striped bow tie.

I added patriotic bears on each side of the gnome. I finished the vignette with blue wooden beads with red gems.

I’m so happy I found the stuffed gnome. There was only one and I got it. It’s very simple decorating, but now I have a new view in my home. I’m doing very well in my recovery from surgery. I now go to the store for groceries and went shopping of course at Ross. I am planning to make a schedule of visits to stores and thrift stores I like after my next doctor’s visit. I enjoy window shopping and will get lots of walking exercise. Spending too much time sitting in my house the last two months has been necessary but now I must gradually increase my muscle usage.

As for my dining table, I can vary what’s on the table when I need a change. I could add my red and white checked tablecloth with flowers or use my DIY 4th of July table scarf I made from a thrift store t-shirt.

I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day (if you live in the USA) and are looking forward to the 4th of July in about a month. No matter where you live, I am wishing you blue skies and warm summer days. Take care and I’ll take you again soon.
