St Pete Beach

Did you hear the big news? Tripadvisor named St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach one of the top 25 beaches in the U.S….again! These beautiful beaches are no stranger to awards. In fact, St. Pete Beach was named Tripadvisor’s #1 Beach in the U.S. in 2021, #2 Beach in the U.S. in 2020, and Clearwater Beach was named the #1 Beach in the U.S. in both 2018 and 2019.

St. Pete Beach

Since I’m not really traveling with my neck brace, today I’m sharing photos of St. Pete Beach from the archives of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater on Facebook. It’s really a beautiful place to visit. St. Petersburg, Florida is known as The Sunshine City with an average of 361 days of sunshine a year. The beach is the perfect place to spend a picture-perfect day.

One of my favorite spots on St. Pete Beach is the historical hotel, Don Cesar, a pink palace. Built in 1928, Don Cesar celebrated its 95th birthday this year.

To get a good photo of this beautiful building, you really need aerial photography or a view from a ship. It’s beautiful even when rain clouds threaten.

When you go to the beach, look for the baskets and take one to use during your visit. It’s really up to every visitor to keep the beach clean. Return the basket before you leave.

Now let’s close with a beautiful sunset. They’re a common occurrence on the beach which faces west.

  1. It looks like a great place. We went to Orange Beach, AL last year for the umpteenth time and we had the feeling that we need to go somewhere new (Orange Beach is as nice as ever, we just want a change). Maybe St Petersburg, or Clearwater Beach is it for us!

    1. There are many great beaches in Florida. What other activities do you like? Maybe one close to hiking?

  2. I like all the beaches on the gulf side, from Sarasota to Dunedin, and along the Panhandle. My personal favorite is Caladesi, #4 on Dr Beach’s top 10 beaches for this year.

  3. What a beautiful beach! I can’t believe how white the sand is and I love the basket idea to encourage people to clean up after them 🙂

  6. What a great idea with the baskets. I hope some of our beaches will take heed to that idea. These are some lovely pictures. Thank you for sharing this beautiful area at #alwcc.
