Pet Time With Heather

The photos today were taken by my nephew’s wife, Heather, in their Michigan home. Many thanks to Heather and her rescued pets! I’m doing well and feel little improvements daily.

Last week on May 4th, many people celebrated Star Wars Day with memes and the phrase may the 4th be with you. Heather celebrated with her dog, Lola, and one of her two cats, Charlotte. I hope the 4th was with you!

Charlotte is Queen of the domain. Heather has noted that she seems to think she’s a dog. She stole Lola’s toy bone and even lay it at Heather’s feet.

Charlotte: Aren’t I a clever girl?

Lola was abused as a puppy and came to Heather at about 1 year old with a bundle of fears. Heather introduced her to grass and it took almost a year and a half to get her to go the bathroom on the grass. Lola’s buddy when she first joined the family was their large older dog who was always calm. She died last year. Now Lola just lives with 2 cats who run the home. Lola always withdraws when presented with confrontation. Charlotte decided one day to take over Lola’s nice luxury dog crate with a soft pillow. The second cat joined her. Lola wasn’t happy as the crate was her safe place.

Lola: What’s going on? This is my place!
Who says?

Lola retreats to the top of the bed by her dog crate.

Lola: I’ll just ignore them and stare out the window.
Later Charlotte wonders, “What was she looking at?”
Heather: This cat cracks me up. She does this every time we turn the fireplace on.

Heather always has crocheted afghans and blankets for Lola to get cozy in the living room.

Heather: Everyone’s dog sleeps like this, don’t they 🤣

And now the final scene for the day is Queen Charlotte by the new centerpiece Heather made.

Heather: Look at this cutie! She’s about to be bad and chew on my centerpiece, but at least she looks cute being bad 🤣

I’ll close with a Florida sunset from my archives. Thanks for the visit.

  2. This totally warmed my heart and bless Heather for her kind heart. Our sweet dog left us a long time ago now and she was also badly abused before she came to us. We got her when she was a year old and she used to quake when men with eye glasses came near her. Hubby wears them and it took her a long time to trust him. It took a lot of patience and love but we got there. Loved their Star Wars outfits. We are fans here. Please thank Heather for sending these photos and thank you for sharing them.

  3. That is hilarious. Our pets love the fireplace when it is on. We used to have dachsund who would cuddle with me on the couch underneath a throw when it was the slightest bit cool.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
