My Favorite Nature Photos of 2022

Tuesday I shared the most popular posts in terms of visitors in 2022. Today I’ll share my favorite nature photos from last year. If you’ve visited me before you probably know a beautiful view of the sky is one of my great loves. A sunrise is a free gift and can only be surpassed by a stunning sunset. I hope I’ve included some of your favorite photos too.

I have to admit many of my favorite nature shots this year were gifts from my nephews and friends. Let’s start with  photos shared by my nephew and his wife, James and Heather. They celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a trip out west to Glacier National Park in Montana’s Rocky Mountains. I always love James’ photos as he has a great eye for composition.  It’s really hard to choose just a few as they are all so beautiful.  Here’s a couple:

Next I’d like to reshare my nephew Robert and his wife Lisa’s visit to Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan last October. Again they took such beautiful photos of the sculpture and landscape during their fall visit. Here’s a few of my favorite. Michigan in the fall starts having gray days with lots of cloud coverage. This can happen throughout winter into spring. I love the capture of the sky in the shot below.

Now for a few beautiful Florida skies. Let’s start with It’s a Beautiful Morning. When the air is full of moisture sunrise ( or sunset) can be very colorful.

After a rain storm, one evening the sky was magically colored from the moisture for a Magenta Sunset.

I can’t forget to include examples of our most common sky view, blue skies. Let’s have two from Neighborhood Skies of Blue.

Now for a photo of the gift of a rainbow.

Again the night before Hurricane Ian hit Florida, the sky was full of moisture with a beautiful sundown.

Now for a couple of photos of the deer family in Terri’s backyard outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

I don’t see deer in my yard but I’m always happy to catch a sunset on the river.

Now I’ll close with a few photos on a sparkling summer day in August. It was so bright I had to squint. And yes, I was wearing sunglasses.
