Top Posts in 2022

Welcome to my 2023 review of 2022!  It’s always fun to look back over the year to see what the top posts were. I had 54 features last year. Many thanks to the link party hosts for their support. In terms of posts with the most visits, there was a big surprise for me on the list. Only 3 posts written in 2022 were in the top 10 most popular posts.

I find it amazing that Search Engines sent me the most visitors. I feel that I’m writing and sharing with a small friendly group that I like and enjoy. Then at the end of the year I see the stats for the 12 months and it seems unbelievable. This past year I wrote fewer posts and joined fewer Link Parties. In 2021 I had a massive problem with the plug-in for subscribers. After months of trying to correct the problem, I finally changed plug-ins and tried to clean-up my subscriber list by asking everyone to verify their continued interest. My loyal subscribers will remember this process at the beginning of 2022. I had several home problems I resolved last year, had medical testing, and added medication. I thank all of my friends out there who visit regularly and especially those who comment. It’s a pleasure talking to you. I’m ready for a new year and hope we can continue our relationship.

2022 Statistics

In total the blog had 40, 109 views with 25,493 visitors. The top referrer for the year was Search Engines with 7474 visitors. Second top referrer was Pinterest with 7273 referrals. The WordPress Android App sent 4052 visitors. Fourth top referrer was Facebook with 921 visitors.

4 of the top posts from all years were recipes, 4 were home decor, 1 was a printable, and a single gardening post was featured. Now let’s look at the top ten posts of 2022 by number of visits to the post. Below the heading of each post is a link followed by the year posted in parenthesis and then the number of visits.

X. Sweet Potato Apple Cranberry Bake (2020) 269 visits

One of my favorite vegetables is a simple baked sweet potato.  They have so much flavor and nutritional value.  Sweet potatoes are a rich source of fiber as well as containing an array of vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, selenium, and they’re a good source of most of our B vitamins and vitamin C.  Another favorite food is apples, crisp and sweet.  Some years ago I read a recipe for a sweet potato apple cranberry bake for November and the holidays, and I had to try the combination. What could be better than sweet potatoes and apples?  I guess the addition of tart fresh cranberries to mingle with the natural sweetness of apples and sweet potatoes.

IX. Fall Tablescape Ideas (2021) 283 visits

Looking for ideas and inspiration for a special fall table? You’re in the right place! If you want to capture that feeling of autumn beauty, add texture and color with natural decorations like pumpkins, apples, squash, and dried leaves and grasses. The addition of these elements can make your table look welcoming.

Autumn days mean cooler temperatures and wonderful food made from the fresh fall produce. This recipe is a simple side dish of roasted butternut squash with red onion tossed with fresh spinach, dried cranberries, and pecans. Yum!

III. Ideas For A Backyard Shady Spot (2018) 1498 visits

We all love sunny days in the summer. Of course summer can also give us extreme heat that can burn skin. I collected ideas for often simple ways to make a shady spot in the yard for the kids and adults. What amazes me is the number of people on Pinterest who pin this post daily – even at Christmas!

II. May The Road Rise Irish Blessing Printable (2022) 2164 visits

“May the Road Rise to Meet You” is an Irish blessing that is often used as a prayer. It has traveled throughout the centuries in songs, word of mouth, and even a popular cross-stitch pattern. The words connect centuries of those who have faithfully hung onto hope through their faith.

This printable was shared in 2022 and received 2164 visits that year! This is one of my favorite blessings and I am thrilled with the response. I thank everyone who visited this post. It’s very gratifying.

I. How To Create An Entryway (2021) 4542 visits

This is my most popular post for 2022 even though it was posted in 2021, Inspiration and ideas for those who have no entryway to their home. Many of us actually do not have an entry space at all.  From apartments to houses, many homes like mine have a front door that opens straight into the living room. Some homes might open into a small space or hallway that leads directly into a staircase. Simple additions like a rug at the door or a mirror on the wall can create a feeling of an entry to your home. I’m always collecting ideas for my front door. Again it is amazing how many people responded to the post.
