A hot summer is continuing through August here in Central Florida with quite a few thunderstorms. My stand-by in the garden besides tropical hibiscus is my faithful periwinkle.
It has become very large, and in the next month I will pull it out. A few babies will remain.
In July my small crepe myrtle was covered in vibrant flowers, but now I just have a few colorful branches. Summer is winding down.
The arbor is loaded with trumpet honeysuckle, a central Florida native plant. Heat and sun doesn’t bother it.
My pretty little miniature Mexican petunia is looking good.
I’ll close with a nice shot of a single red hibiscus against the sky. I hope you are having beautiful days.

They are all lovely, Carol, but that trumpet honeysuckle is especially beautiful!
I wish I could get my flowers to be as good as yours Carol.

Flowers are always so upliftings. I enjoyed seeing the Florida August Flowers. We will be back in October to South Florida for the winter.
Fingers crossed it is cooler in October. I’m ready for cooler.
Lindas flores te mando un beso.
Carol – so much color in tropical plants – I am jealous! My favorite is the trumpet honeysuckle – so pretty! When I was a youngster, we would suck the “honey” from the honeysuckle that grows in Ohio! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
I grew up in Tennessee and did the same thing. I kind of miss that type of honeysuckle but I do love the Florida trumpet honeysuckle too.
What pretty flowers you have. I love that last photo of the hibiscus against the blue sky!
We love the miniature Mexican petunias. They really bush out and bloom a lot. Lovely flowers at this time of year. Enjoy your week!
Carol. you are fortunate to live in a state that has such beautiful arrays of flowers all year long! You must see many hummingbirds as I saw a lot of red flowers in your photos which they love to visit.
What beautiful photos and captures as always so many lovely colours
Have a bloomingtastic week 👍
Such beautiful flowers you have, Carol.
I especially love the trumpet honeysuckle

ah the periwinkle…a very hardy plant to be certain. They do extremely well in hot temps…they get a little wilty…a little watering will perk them right up. Can easily take over a flowerbed.
The trumpet honeysuckle isn’t anything like the honeysuckle we have here in New York. It’s nice seeing crepe myrtle as that’s another plant we can’t grow here. All beautiful! Alana ramblinwitham
No the trumpet honeysuckle is a Florida native and would not last in frozen northern winters.
They are lovely!. Honeysuckle is my favorite.
Stunning Honeysuckle blooms, the Ruellias and hibiscus are one of my favorite plants. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
