First, I hope everyone had a good day yesterday. Valentine’s Day is fun for all ages.
Today I’m sharing a small event from last month. Since the pandemic started, I don’t go to thrift stores every week. I started to visit Facebook’s Marketplace every now and then. Sometimes I just wander and see what’s listed. Other times I may do a search for furniture or appliances, just to see what’s for sale.
One day I saw an ad for a pretty painted side table with 2 doors and a shelf. I only had a small table without storage next to the bed. I’m always looking for storage. The table is so charming with the pretty blue flowers. It is solid wood and was priced at $49. The seller was shown to live not far from me, and I sent a message.
We sent messages several times and made an appointment for me to buy it.
I asked my friend Vickie if she wanted to go with me and she agreed.
When we arrived the gentleman came out to the driveway to meet us and showed us the cute table. He said it was made by a designer, Valerie. I’m not familiar with the brand, but the table is gorgeous.
I was expecting a light weight table but that was far from true. It is a solid painted hard wood and has a significant weight. It is in excellent condition and I bought it. The seller put it in the back of my car. It just fit.
A neighbor helped bring it in my house and set it perfectly by my bed. It is between the bed and the outside wall. I love it.
I may not go to thrift stores every week but I still love vintage. I’ve gone to a thrift store 3 times since the pandemic started. I lucked out with this buy online, and I still enjoy browsing the ads. Who knows what I will find. Thanks for dropping by.

Congrats on a great find Carol, a pretty addition for sure.
thanks Denise
Hi, Carol. Very Cute….and fits perfectly. Comment on thrift stores—our local Goodwills were the first to do all store spraying each day, cleaning all day…masks and sanitizer always available, plastic guards up for their employees, and cleaning of carts either done or available, holding donated merchandising for pricing for two days. So, after a time, I visit two or three Goodwills occasionally without worrying. I go on a Tuesday or Thursday morning when it is slow! Chains were very lax in the above: Joann’s, TJMax, Homegoods, so I really haven’t gone there. Groceries—a local chain closed on Mondays for cleaning and stocking—opening at 6-8am on Tuesdays for seniors only…! That was a godsend…so we got to go out for once a week, which helps to keep us sane! Enjoy your wonderful cabinet! Sandi
You’re so lucky that the Goodwill is being so dilligent. I don’t see that here in Florida. My favorite thrift store was closed at the beginning of the pandemic for months. When it finally re-opened, I found my friend who managed the store had died. The new manager tried to change the whole store and it went out of business in a few months. I really miss my old friend and store.
Well done Carol.

thanks Paul
FABULOUS JOB! GORGEOUS!
That is beautiful! What a great find.
That’s very pretty, Carol. And a perfect bedside table with space for books or other things you might want to keep close at hand. I’m a firm believer that one can’t have too many cupboards!
I agree. I need more little hiding places like that to keep things close.
Now that table is a great find!!
I couldn’t believe it was so cheap.
The botanical doors are really pretty. I hand painted the knobs on my bathroom cabinets. Turtles, waves, etc.
sounds marvelous – do you have photos on your blog?
So pretty!! Thanks for sharing at #aclwcc. Pinned & tweeted.
