January can feel like a let-down when the holidays are over. We put away the Christmas decorations and take down the tree. I usually use red highlights in January and February. This year I have some red with pink and black in the mix.
I moved my large fawn art back into the dining room and brought the Flower Deer Holiday Print into the living room. When you come in the front door, you see my grandmother’s table in front of you. I believe it is from 1920’s or 1930’s. I leaned the framed art print against the wall and added candles and my faux orchid with a large shell.
I returned my dusty pink throw to the white futon with a change in pillow covers to black. I like the contrast of black and white. Remember I used this throw last fall, and it will work well through most of the year. So far all I’ve done is move art and a table and change pillow covers and throw.
In the left corner by the futon, I have added a new bouquet of faux flowers with my wooden pelican. I got it several years ago at Beall‘s discount store. It’s a Florida chain with so many great coastal elements.
The large painting over the futon is a permanent fixture in this room. You can read more about it in Original Art by Peter Cocuzza Over My Coastal Futon. The swag and white chair have been in the living room for over a year. I can just make a few changes to the futon and everything has a fresher look.
The rocking chair was given a throw pillow that goes well with the futon’s colors.
On the side table between the dining room and living room I placed a new bouquet in my cut red crystal vase. The Beautiful Summer Foxes Art Print is one of my favorites. I added a red gnome, a shell, and beads.
I hope you enjoyed your little visit. Have a beautiful day!

Oh I know what you mean about it all looking sao bare when the decorations have gone down. Love your idea of giving the room some new accents! #MMBC
…we are still enjoying our tree.
Lovely, Carol. That wooden pelican especially calls to me. And as you know, that deer print is one of my favorites!
I love them both too. Hope you have a great day!
Happy New Year! Love the deer print and how you emphasize the picture.
You have a very tasteful home, dear Carol, I like the mix of modern and inherited furniture and art. The picture with the deer was appealing to me immediately.
I hope you had a nice Christmas! All the best, happiness and health in 2022! 🍀🥂

A very special heirloom to have your grandmother’s table. It looks lovely with all your other pieces. I like your decorating style, many things here I would have chosen myself, and the coastal feel is very welcoming.
Me encantaron los cuadros , Te mando un beso
