Today I’m re-sharing my visit to Florida Botaincal Garden’s Christmas Lights in 2017.
Pinellas County Florida Botanical Gardens 12520 Ulmerton Road Largo, FL 33774
For me one of the highlights of the Tampa Bay Area is the Florida Botanical Gardens. The Gardens is a Pinellas County learning experience as well as a beautiful exotic horticultural garden. It officially opened to the public on Dec. 2, 2000, showcasing 25 gardens and display areas with 10,000 plants on 150 acres. Admission is free but a donation of $2.00 is suggested to help fund the maintenance of the gardens. It is open Monday through Friday 7 am to 5 pm and is closed on weekends and on county holidays. I did a post on the beautiful garden, The Florida Botanical Gardens, A Tampa Bay Favorite. Today it’s all about Christmas. There are special hours of operation for the Christmas Light display and the suggested donation for the Christmas Lights is $5.00. If you are ever in the Tampa Bay area of Florida during the Christmas season, you must come see the lights at the garden.
Here are some highlights of a fabulous display.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas! Hope you enjoyed the show.
Merry Christmas!

The Florida Botanical Gardens must be a great resource for learning and leisure and the Christmas Light Display Event looks wonderful. Thank you for sharing what you saw there. I like the decorated palm trees and the beautiful lit up structures.
That is beautiful! It must be so nice to be able to walk around and see Christmas lights without freezing half to death!
It is – we had a cold front move in last night and it was down in the upper 30’s but today’s high was 62. Not bad. Just wwear layers and as you get hot, take one off.
This is one of our favorite Christmas traditions! How fun to see your post on it here!
thanks!
So pretty and festive!
Wow, that looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Carol, I’d love to visit a light display like this, I can imagine how wonderful it looks in the ‘flesh’. I love the fact that the botanical garden closes weekends, life is too full on these days with everything open all hours of the day and night (except if you live on a Greek island!).
Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
xx
Yes generally since it’s owned by the county, if the govt offices are closed so is the garden. It’s a lovely place to visit.
I love the illumination of light! It is always nice to watch!
Thank you for beautiful wishes !
Merry Christmas for you too
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing what must be a wonderful garden to experience!
Beautiful lights in the garden. I like the Flamingoes.
The light display is a great way to say Merry Christmas, Carol! After all, Hannukkah comes from the word light as I have been told:) Your first green display of the palms with the “coconuts” (real of balloons) is my favorite in the sense of beautiful and serene. The others are cute and lovely. Many thanks linking this All Seasons, and “see” you back on New Year’s Eve.
Gorgeous! Merry Christmas!
How beautiful! Thank you for this Christmas light show 🙂
I am loving the lights, especially the gazebo ones. So gorgeous! If I still lived in Ft Myers, You’d see me there a lot!
Ft Myers is a nice place – I go down quite often. Enjoy your wintry Christmas – thanks for all your friendship in the last year. It’s always a pleasure to visit you and chat. Merry Christmas!
It looks like such a pretty place with all those lights.
This place looks so charming and those lights are magical, Carol. Florida at Christmas time seems like a great destination! 😉
If you like mild weather, blue skies, the beach and Christmas lights – it’s fabulous!
Spectacular. I am thrilled that admission is free (donation recommended); anything to encourage families to bring kids to learn about nature is wonderful! Merry Christmas!
