Last Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, we had a cold front come down from up north over night. I woke up to 45 degree F weather. Doesn’t sound cold to you, does it? Well it was cold for Florida. What makes it worse is the strong wind blowing. When I went outside in my slacks and sweatshirt, as usual, we had gorgeous blue skies. I decided I would go for a ride. I’ve been meaning to visit a thrift store that I haven’t visited in almost 2 years. After Thanksgiving stores will be zooey (like a zoo). The day before would be fun to just explore.
The thrift store is in a strip mall right before the building curives in the corner.
It’s similar to many thrift stores and raises money for a local hospice. I always like the glass displays when you first walk in.
That first section is housewares followed by a bridal section. I walked through housewares pass bridal to linens. Then I walked through furniture over to the art section in the back corner.
I enjoy just walking and looking (I still wear a mask).
I got out and had fun but didn’t buy anything. I’ve really missed doing this since the pandemic. Two weeks ago I went to the Salvation Army store and found the candleholder I used for Advent. My favorite thrift store went out of business. I miss it and the senior who managed it. He was so wonderful. He died in the first 2 months of the pandemic.
Time to go home. I love going down Main Street in New Port Richey going east out of town. Blue skies, huge large live oaks, and draping Spanish moss.
Thanks for taking a ride with me.
