Hibiscus & Orchids

My friend Beverly who lives further south in Florida shared her photos today. We’ve seen her orchids before. They always brighten my day.  Thanks Beverly!

Beverly had her white orchid blooming last week. It is located next to her single red hibiscus. They make a lovely combination.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

  1. First of all thank you for your lovely comments that I received on my 2 websites and i had also responded back to. You also have a beautiful website. And from me a wow because they look really nice. The weather is gray here in the Netherlands and then it is nice to see colors of flowers that also enchant me. And it looks like they are growing very well. I have added your website url to my reading list because I always enjoy getting to know other nature and flower friends. Best regards, Tine

    1. It’s a pleasure to meet you Tine – I’ve never been to the Netherlands, but when I lived in the northern US, we also had gray skies during the fall and winter most of the time. The gray skies make me sad and I moved to warm Florida really for the sunshine. Florida is called the sunshine state. The sky is usually blue and all the sunlight makes me happy. I hope we can visit each other and become friends. That is the best part about blogging.

  2. “Hibiscus & Orchids” , They are two beautiful flowers. My mother and daughter loved Catta lillies and they both carried them when they got married. I just thought I mention it.

    1. Calla lilies are beautiful but hard to grow. I couple of years ago I bought a plant for my home. Little feet went in the air! Nope I can’t grow them or orchids. I only share my friend’s orchids – I’ve killed every plant I’ve had.

  3. Hibiscus are such lovely blooms, but I’m not a fan of orchids in the rooms. Such blooms are wonderful in the Garden and your captures are fantastisc. Thank you for sharing.

    Have a good week.

  5. My goodness, Carol, what a stunning combination of red and white, and the textures! So nice of your friend to share these with all of us. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

  6. Thank you for sharing your friend’s flowers. You’ve brightened up my day for sure with these splashes of red and white. I just got back from a walk. Another dreary afternoon in New York State. Dreaming of warm!

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
