I’m recycling a post from the past, my October porch 2016. This year I have a wreath and 2 potted yellow hibiscus shrubs but that year was a time for more fall decoration. I hope you enjoy it. My porch is hard to decorate as it is long and thin with no steps.
The weather here in central Florida is getting a little cooler with less humidity, but it’s still like summer in comparision to up north. Highs still in the 80’s and mostly blue skies and white clouds. I’m looking forward to cooler weather in the next two months.
In September, I bought cheerful chrysanthemums for two of my pots. Bright yellow flowers brighten the yard and porch. The bright tropical croton leaves line the front porch.
I moved my ceramic duck from the flower bed to the porch. I recovered a pillow with thrift store fabric and put it on a chair.
This weekend I added a new Halloween wreath, a pumpkin and autumn pillows.
A comfortable seat and lovely weather make my porch a welcome haven.
I like the burst of color on the front door.
The Boo Wreath is fun.
The pumpkin adds another pop of color.
Thanks for joining me on the porch.

Your porch is gorgeous! Love the cheerful yellow and orange pops! Have a beautiful week!
Thanks! Hope your week is wonderful!
Everything looks so pretty against the white. It was 73 degrees here in WI yesterday do you believe it?
No, that’s hard to believe! My sister lived in Milwaukee area back in the 1970’s and I was always cold when I visited. Even on 4th of July! Living in Miami, it wasn’t really hot to me.
Your climate sounds wonderful……nice porch….very welcoming!
You should come visit in January. It’s gorgeous – that’s why so many retirees (Snow Birds) come down December, January, February, and March. Blue skies, puffy clouds, and warm days.
Wow, those lush plants really caught my eye! They are gorgeous! And I love your colorful pillows 🙂
Thanks. The bushes in front of the porch are crotons and have colorful leaves all year. They are the closest I get to autumn leaves. I do love them.
Carol, your porch is so welcoming and autumn ready! Enjoy your cooler temps! Pam @ Everyday Living
Thanks, Pam. Have a great day.
Your porch looks lovely and ready for Halloween x #mmbc
Nice pictures Carol. It’s a bit warmer here this week in Texas. Not sure when Fall is going to arrive. It comes for a day and leaves. LOL!
I totally understand. You never know what Mother Nature will do.
I think you and I might just be having similiar weather patterns.
I am enjoying the cooler temps too and would just love to have a little less humidity, at least we can have the windows open in the evenings and that brings me joy.
Your October porch is precious-love that adorable wreath!
Jemma
Thanks, Jemma.
Waving from “the neighborhood!” Too bad our cool temps have gone away again, huh? Have a great week!
You also Lisa!

I’m loving the fall colors! My fall porch could use some love. I currently just have two big pumpkins.
That’s a great start, move something like a small statue from the garden to the porch
Carol, your porch looks so lovely. Mine is covered with leaves! LOL I really love the plants in front of the porch, they are such a cool blend of colors. What are they? And the Boo wreath is perfect! Will you have trick or treaters? If so, have fun!
Thanks! The plants in front of the porch are crotons. They are not frost tolerant but make a nice house plant if you live in a northern climate. They come with a variety of colors in the leaves. Very colorful year round and very popular here in Florida for our yards. Have a great week!
Your autumn terrace looks very beautiful!
Greetings
Thanks!

Wow, what a very beautiful porch Carol. Well thought of in design. I loved the stone ides around the house. I wonder if the stone can come in different colors?
Cruisin Paul
Stones come in all kinds of colors – river rock, volcanic rock, etc. Nature has lots of shades and hues. Thanks for the visit Paul – Happy Tuesday!
Your porch looks really great, dear Carol! I understand the problem, our porch is long and thin, too – but you made a wonderful job – very inspiring!
All the best
