Wreath Makeover For Fall

At the beginning of the year, I decorated a grapevine wreath with red roses and a heart.

Later I took off the heart and had it on a wall in the master bedroom with just roses.  I’m ready for something different that is appropriate for  September.  Here in Florida, there really isn’t a big difference with fall weather.  It’s still hurricane season until the end of October, and we still have lots of heat, rain, and sun.  I’d like a wreath for the front door that says, “I’m ready for a fall cool down and the fall harvest of squashes, pumpkins, and mums.”

First I removed the red roses and purple flowers which leaves the green leaves on a grapvine wreath. Originally last winter, I wrapped a vine of light green leaves around the wreath. It gives it a great fullness that I love. I decided to leave the vine on and add seasonal flowers.  Living in Florida, there are green leaves year round.   I have a small collection of Dollar Tree orange flowers, pumpkins,  and pine cones to place around the wreath.  I spent about $5 for 5 bunches.

I really like the flowers that look like faux orange sunflowers with the large dark center. I tried to distribute them around the wreath starting at the top.  Then I added some of the smaller orange flowers  and scattered a few of the more fall items like pine cones or little pumpkins around the wreath.

My goal was to have a nice balance of flowers and ornaments around the wreath. I like how the green vine makes it look lush.

Now my wreath is complete and decorates the front door.  I like using something I already had but still having a new look.  I need something cheerful that welcomes the new season, don’t you? It’s perfect for September, October, and November.

Thanks for the visit. Wishing you flowers and sunshine.

  1. I love your wreath. We just put a new window in our door and the question I ask is how would you hang the wreath on this new window. I don’t want to mark the window. It’s a fancy design we chose but I love the wreath idea.

    1. I use a removable hook. You know the kind with a sticky that comes down under the hook? You pull down and the hook pops off. No holes in walls, no nails, – perfect for a window. Choose the hook by weight it can carry and choose for wreath you want to use. Hope that helps!

  2. I love remakes of things I already have and you have really jazzed up your wreath. I love the flowers you chose — they’re so fall — and bright and happy, too!

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
