A Simple Early Autumn Table

My home has many coastal elements. Every fall I am faced with decorating for autumn using my colors. I use more textures, tans, and browns. I add deeper toned colors as the season progresses.  I look for softer shades of typical fall colors. I also love using turquoise in the fall with tans, browns, and golden tones. Officially it is autumn on September 22nd, but today I’m adding a few coastal autumn colors in the dining room.

My simple table starts with a homemade tablecloth from a vintage curtain, adds a vase of soft peach roses, and a vintage painted tray I found several years ago. It’s not perfect as you see the scratches on it, but I love its simple charm. It has painted pale flowers and colors of cream, light browns, and gold.  I’ve used it many times in different ways. It goes beautifully with the cloth of semi-sheer cream with tan and turquoise flowers.

I added my turquoise porcelain bird. I’ll use him again later in the season with more deep browns.

I found this lovely pale bunch of roses at Aldi. I love that store. Pale with peachy pink shading, the roses add my final touch. There are many things I could add to the vignette but I really felt less is more today.

In the next month, I will slowly add more autumn touches to my home with dried arrangements and natural elements.   Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day.

    1. thanks for the sweet words Jeanie – I grabbed that single panel at a thrift store for a $1 a few years back. I knew it would make a great tablecloth.
