Early Evening June 12th

Last Saturday was a beautiful day here in Central Florida with blue skies and of course, lots of sunshine and heat.  Around seven PM is a great time to stretch my legs and take a little walk down the street.  The sun is lower in the sky and the heat of mid-day has lessened.  There is a slight breeze in the air.

In my garden last week, a new large stalk grew on my white amaryllis with 4 buds.  The flowers from my Memorial Day surprise were dying back and are now brown.   The 4 new flowers are open and beautiful.

Next to the amaryllis is a small miniature Mexican petunia with small blue flowers.

It’s a nice way to end my day. Thanks for stopping by.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

    1. thanks Paul but I do have failures – I’ve tried planting azaleas and hydrangea multiple times and they always die. I do better with tropicals.

    1. just be careful as Mexican Petunias can be invasive (miniature are not) – butterflies love them but will not lay eggs on them as they are not native to your area

  1. Carol – your amaryllis are always so pretty. I can imagine that you have to get creative in Florida to find cool times of day! One of the benefits of the longer daylight … Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
