Cheery Yellow May Table

For the last several years I’ve made a yellow table for May, but I wasn’t planning to make one this year.  Then I find sunny yellow placemats in the store and knew it was again time for a May yellow table.  I enjoy collecting vintage dinnerware at thrift stores.  I have 3 salad plates in the Corelle pattern Spring Meadow which was made in 1977.  There is something about the little pastel flowers which I find cheerful.

I went to Publix Supermarket for flowers as they have 3 bunches for $12.  I was totally surprised to see a pretty bunch of yellow alstroemeria.  I added white baby’s breath and two pink hydrangeas for a lovely bouquet. It looks great in my milkglass vase on a yellow placemat.  I added my farmhouse salt and pepper shakers.

Each place setting has a white plate, Spring Meadow salad plate, cutlery, a white duck napkin holder with napkin, and a milkglass mug.

It’s a simple table and it makes me happy.

  1. You have put together a pretty table setting from your vintage finds and items you already had in your store cupboard. The colour of the flowers match beautifully arranged in your milk glass vase.

  2. Yellow is so bright and cheery. It’s one of my favorite spring and summer colors to decorate with. Your tablescape is pretty. I love the vintage plates. Thanks for sharing at #aclwcc.
