Foggy Day At The Lake

Fog

BY CARL SANDBURG
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

I like fog. It’s mysterious. Silent. It brings out an almost primal feeling in me.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

  1. I always love watching fog on m y lake — it can be so thick you don’t see across it, then the gentle lifting. It’s like Avalon! I fully expect King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake to appear!

  2. I like fog too. It makes everything feel so intimate, close. I have always liked the “little cat feet” phrase to describe fog too. Have a great rest of your week!

  3. What beautiful foggy photos! I love when fog creeps in over the lake and we watch it slowly swallow all the houses and trees nearby. #MMBC
