Thanksgiving Table for Two

Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia, and the sub-national entities Leiden, Norfolk Island, and Puerto Rico. It began as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

This year I will not gather with a large group for my Thanksgiving celebration.  Instead a simple meal for two will be shared at my table. My inspiration for my small Thanksgiving table is the thrift store angel I got last year.  The ceramic angel holds a pumpkin and the words “Give Thanks” adorn her skirt.  Perfect for my Thanksgiving lunch.

I placed her on a log slice in front of my November mum bouquet  with a few pine cones and bird salt and pepper shakers.

For my place setting I started with a woven placemat for texture and added an off-white plate with brown markings on the raised design on the rim.

The final layer is a turkey salad plate with a brown fall print.  There are two different turkey designs.

Add gold cutlery and a brown glass to complete the place setting.

Even if your Thanksgiving celebration is small this year, you can enjoy the spirit of the day and give thanks.

  1. Our Thanksgiving celebration will be small this year, too. You have set a beautiful table and have inspired me to do the same. Thank you for sharing at Tuesdays with a Twist! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

  2. It’s a very pretty table setting. It looks like a Thanksgiving to remember. We’re not sure who is coming for Thanksgiving this year. It will definitely be a ‘different’ Thanksgiving. We do give thanks to God for keeping us all safe. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  3. Carol your angel is very pretty as is your Thanksgiving table setting. It will be the same at my house–we will not have our big family Thanksgiving this year as my children and grandchildren interact with too many people at work and school and we can’t take the risk as our state’s Covid rates are high.

    1. We must be safe and visit through phone, Skype, etc. this years. I pray that next year life will be closer to normal. God bless

  5. It’s lovely to see such a pretty table setting for two, Carol. So many people are eating in smaller groups or on their own, and it’s important we still decorate our tables. Thank you for sharing this lovely inspiration and for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party Community. I’m featuring this post at the party this week. Hope to ‘see’ you there! Take care, stay well, and I wish you a wonderful week!

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
