Blue Skies & Flowers

Today I’m sharing just a few random photos of Florida blue skies, white clouds, and flowers taken over a period of time. We’ll start with a ride on Main Street, New Port Richey, Florida.

We’ll go over the bridge.

Get a view of the Pithlachascotee River (also called ‘Cotee River).

Drive by a home with a gorgeous sky.

Got a glimpse of orange flowers.

Saw a friend’s African Violets and other flashes of color.

Captured a brief look at a Monarch butterfly on a butterfly bush.

I’ll close with a sunset on the river.

Stay safe and well.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

  1. Carol,
Beautiful pictures!! I love sun sets but I also think that cloud formations make the most intriguing pictures!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
    Hugs,
    Debbie

  2. Everything is beautiful. From the beautiful sky, the beautiful river view to the beautiful butterfly and flowers and finally ending with a beautiful sunset. Take care and stay safe.

  3. How beautiful to join you on a colourful wander in your neck of the woods! Florida certainly looks so appealing with it’s pretty painted houses and all the bright flowers and butterflies. Summer is completely passing me by here in Thailand – it’s our hot and rainy season! So I have so enjoyed my visit with you today Carol.

    1. I have to admit to you that summer is also the hot rainy season here in Florida. We still get beautiful blue skies – then in afternoon or evening storms move in from the Gulf of Mexico and we have rain for an hour or so and then the clouds are gone and the sun comes out again. It’s hard to get photos now with the pandemic and my normal staying out of the hot, humid weather outside. Early morning or late afternoon before sunset are the best times.

  4. Hi Carol, lovely photos. Florida always looks so inviting in your photos. Now Pithlachascotee River is not something you would want to say if you didn’t have your own teeth, that’s for sure!

    xx

    1. that’s why most folks just shorten it to ‘Cotee River – the Native American word is hard!

    1. well howdy neighbor!! I live close to New Port Richey too in Pasco County. It’s always fun to meet new folks – especially when they live close.

  5. Carol – one of the many things I love about Florida is that is ok for your house to be a robin’s egg blue! And another is its spectacular flowers! Thanks for bringing a bit of Florida sunshine and color to everyone at Mosaic Monday!

    1. in many ways it is – except for the summer heat – it’s like living in a sauna in the summer

  6. Thanks for the trip around town. Love the flowers and the picture of your house, nice to have one level. Beautiful blue skies are always uplifting. Thanks for sharing and have a great day! Sylvia D.

  7. Thanks for sharing your photos, they are so bright and cheery on my wet, wintry day.

It’s awesome to see you at ‘My Corner of the World’ this week!! Thanks for linking up.

  8. A beautiful drive Carol … and so perfectly Florida! I miss the bright colors, the fluffy white clouds (they really do look different in Florida) and the green (at least that will come back here in Oregon….there’s still some, but we need rain!).

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
