For the upcoming 4th of July, I have put my patriotic heart wreath on the front door as I have for several years. I love the rustic feel of the twig heart with the red, white and blue accents.
My front door opens directly into the living room.
The long main wall has my white futon which is decorated with my bandana pillow covers. They’re easy to make and very inexpensive. They are a perfect addition to your summer decor and bring a farmhouse touch to the room. I added a red and white check throw.
In the left corner of the living room is my grandmother’s side table from the 1920’s. I rotated art from a bedroom with a violin print on a red background. I got that several years ago at a rummage sale for pennies and put it in a new frame. The red background is perfect for my patriotic country living room. Shopping in your own home is a great way to make a room look new for no money – just move items and make new combinations.
I made a flower bouquet of red, white, and blue with a patriotic pick and placed in a red glass vase. In front of the vase are my 2 little patriotic bear figurines which were a present from my friend, Vickie, several years ago.
Now over to the right side of the futon is my country bookcase with my planter of green houseplants.
Across from the bookcase is a half wall with my DIY Patriotic Wall Decor I made last week. Under the Be Free decoration is a small white side table with a blue, white, and red vase of roses.
I looked at it yesterday and decided it needed something additional. I have a simple red metal hanger with the words “God Bless America”. I’ve used it everywhere in my home in the last few years.
I added a removable hook under my Be Free decoration and hung the God Bless America.
It’s the perfect addition to the wall and room.
Have a great day!

Now THAT is a very beautiful Living Room! Just in time for the July 4th festivities. I know a lot will be different this year in your ways of celebrating there but you have a way big headstart in taking the festivities at home! Love it! Also, July 4th is Philippine-American Friendship day too 🙂
thanks for the kind comment – I didn’t know about the Philippine-American Friendship day – that’s a wonderful thing to celebrate too!
…always a wonderful color combination.

Great touches that look so festive! I always wait until the day after my birthday (the 23rd) to put my patriotic stuff out. This has got me excited to decorate!
