Deep Pink Tropical Hibiscus

In warmer climates, tropical hibiscus is grown as a perennial garden plant and is used as a woody shrub for hedges and screens.   It can be grown as a potted plant up north and has to be brought inside during cold weather.

In May I started visiting a new chiropractor in New Port Richey.  She’s a very nice young woman and has an office building to herself.  We both wear masks and I am not near a single person except for the doctor. Honestly, getting an adjustment each week helps me stay healthier, and I hadn’t had one for 2 months.

The building is facing south, and it is a beautiul morning with blue skies.

Anyway, I love the bushes on the side of the building.

There are 5 tropical hibiscus bushes with lovely flowers.  Today we’ll see the deep pink hibiscus next to the door. It is a beautiful deep pink with an almost cranberry center.

It is a classic single hibisbus with one layer of petals folding back from the center. (Double hibiscus has double layers of petals with a ruffled look.)

It’s a pleasant place.  I always feel better seeing flowers.

Thanks for the visit.

  1. Lovely. We have plenty of those in India and its used as offerings in temples and altars at home. Its a common flowering shrub found in most of the houses. You have lovely bushes of hibiscus with so many of them in bloom !

  2. An adjustment to make you feel great and some beautiful hibiscus photos. It sounds like your visit to the chiropractor was a win-win!

  3. Delightful photos & post! We have them growing down the side of our driveway here in Australia.

  6. Hibiscus flowers are one of my favourites, I am missing the blue one that I had to leave behind in my garden in Normandy very much.

  7. The Hibiscus is such a beautiful color. And I’m glad you were able to get an adjustment. I got my teeth cleaned and that has been so nice for me. I went back and forth in my mind about whether to go but now I’m SO glad I did! Take care!

  8. Beautiful hibiscus. I am hoping to see my chiro this week. Haven’t been since March and oh how I miss him. I had just started going. He is such a blessing. Glad you are able to go. I know it makes a difference.

  9. Carol – I am visiting family in Ohio, and my sister has a stunning orange hibiscus. You can be sure you will see a picture of it in a future post. It is so bright that I am tempted to go up and lick it – thinking it might taste like orange sherbet! Is it true the flowers only last for 24 hours? Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

    1. tropical hibiscus flowers only last about a day – not sure about the one in Ohio as it’s not tropical
