If you visited me last November, you may remember I had 2 blooming forced amaryllis bulbs. One was a gorgeous large white amaryllis plant which flowered for several weeks.
Forced White Amaryllis November 2019
My plan was to plant both forced bulbs in March, but life had other plans. My lawn guy had been absent around here for 2 months (until last week he did knock on my door late one afternoon and offered to cut my high grass). Here in central Florida March and April are the months I make most of the changes to my yard before the heat of summer takes over. None of my landscaping plans happened, and the flower bed I was totally redoing still has nothing new.
After blooming in the spring, amaryllis can die back with just a few green leaves feeding the bulb. The potted forced bulb’s largest leaves were turning yellow which was not a surprise. Then all of a sudden I see a bud. This really shocked me. Most of the forced bulbs I have bought before did not re-bloom until the next year.
I put it in a new basket I got right before quarantine began and placed it on my dining room table.
What is even more wonderful is the fact that there are 2 more buds!

Your amaryllis is beautiful! I love the basket it’s in also. I noticed the pretty painting on your mantel of the irises. I miss my irises I had to leave behind in Ohio. Some were from my mother who passed in 2009. Your picture reminds me of them so much.
I love bearded iris which was everywhere in Tennessee where I grew up. It’s too hot here in Florida for them. I just love the canvase print of them. Reminds me of childhood.
…that’s a nice one, I so often see red ones.
These are beautiful. That creamy white is just the loveliest color, Carol. Pure perfection!
You really do grow some wonderful amaryllis. This is another beauty!
The amaryllis is lovely and the second bloom a special surprise! I also really like the shelf arrangement behind it , especially the iris painting.
Beautiful and lucky for you to have the extra beauty around. – Margy
Your photo is just gorgeous!! It’s just breathtaking! Thank you!
The white amaryllis looks prisitne! Yay for two more buds. I like these kinds of surprises. Something similar happened with our bearded irisises outside. This year there are more buds for extra flowers. Without saying , am thrilled:) Many thanks for keeping All Seasons updated on your beautiful flowers. Wishing you a happy week, Jesh
Carol – you got your money’s worth with that amaryllis! Isn’t it the simple things that make us the most joyful? Thanks for linking this beauty to Mosaic Monday!
I enjoyed your post, your wonderful bloom.
Stay well and healthy.
Happy MosaicMonday

What a beautiful bloom!
That is a beautiful bloom!
You don’t see these in white very often! How eye catching! Enjoy your week! The weather sure is beautiful this month!
Wow this looks so pretty 🙂 🙂 #MMBC
How gorgeous is that! So elegant!
Wow! That white amaryillis is even more showy than the red ones. You must have a green thumb, Carol, to get a forced one to rebloom.
Lucky you to get a second flowering.
What a happy surprise!
White flowers are my favourite!
That has to be a sign of better times!
Pretty!
Beautiful pictures! I had a total fail with the amaryllis I bought last fall. My record for reblooming these plants is a grand total of one out of many. My hat is off to you.
Beautiful flowers! Nice job on the close-ups… delicate and pretty!
You rarely see the white ones. I love the coral colored ones as well.
