Bouquets Round-up

There is nothing like fresh flowers to make your home alive and beautiful.  Since I am not going to stores to buy flowers, I have been looking through my archives for beautiful bouquets I like.  Today I’m just sharing some of my favorites.  I hope I’ve included some of yours too.  Flowers make me happy.

Peach Roses to Brighten The Day 2018

Roses are one of my favorite flowers.  I am not successful at growing them here in Florida although I know 2 people who work really hard and have roses.  Most of us don’t want to work that hard when so many other flowers grow easily here in central Florida.

Let’s start with a professional bouquet my friend got for her birthday a few years ago.  I just love this bouquet. Roses and baby’s breath are one of my favorite combinations. It’s not a spring bouquet but then again, why not?  I love roses anytime in any color.

Next is a bouquet I made  3 years ago with white and pink roses and alstroemeria.  I really like the mix of 2 soft colored roses.

Baby’s breath and alstroemeria are two of my favorite fillers in a bouquet.

Last spring I had fun making bouquets with amaryllis cuttings from the yard with flowers from the store.  I love white hydrangea with a large bold red flower.

Several of my earliest posts from 2016 were of bouquets I bought at the farmer’s market.  I just re-edited the photos if you want to click through and see. My photos are better than 4 years ago and I couldn’t stand them.  They look better now.  I still think these first 2 bunches of flowers were some of the prettiest bouquets I’ve ever seen.  Tom from the farmer’s market taught me to take a large gorgeous flower like amaryllis and add fillers for background. Who would have thought simple little begonia flowers could add so much to a bouquet?  On my to-do-list when I finally return to the world, a stop in the garden center for begonias.

Last spring I tried arranging tulips and hydrangea.  I like that look so much and really meant to do another this year, but life has a way of blowing plans to the wind.

  1. Your bouquets are gorgeous! I love the hydrangeas and tulips and wouldn’t of thought of putting them together. They are so pretty and complement one another. I couldn’t even get a plant catalog to send me a couple hydrangeas. They said they wouldn’t grow this far south. I miss their beauty.

    1. I’ve tried growing hydrangea multiple times, but my yard is mostly Florida full sun and burns the plant up. So I just have to accept that I can buy hydrangrea cuttings or pots and enjoy them for just a little while. I have to admit it is one of my favorite flowers in a bouquet.

  2. These are all so pretty; though my favorites are those coral roses with the baby’s breath. I have bought a bouquet here and there at the grocery store when I’m already out buying food for us. Having those blooms do make me smile.

  3. Beautiful bouquets. I totally agree, there’s something lovely about having fresh flowers around the house, they really cheer the place up!

  4. Tomorrow is grocery pickup day. The store has an outside nursery section with a register that doesn’t require going into the store. I may go there to see if there is a small plant I can add to my balcony. We may only be here for another month, but it would be nice for that time. – Margy

    1. Hi Ann. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Isn’t that one of the fabulous things about blogging? We get to meet such nice people from all over. I appreciate your invitation and would love to come visit you and get to know the Charming Homes & Gardens link party. The title certainly sounds like something I’d like. I am a flower nut and especially with the stay at home going on. Going in the yard and seeing my flowers is keepinng my sanity. I’ll come visit you right now!
